The exam today went about as well as I expected; not great, but not bad, either.
As I said in an earlier post, I needed to get about 85% of the marks to get a 7 for that course. There were ten questions, and each question was worth 10 marks. There are three questions I'm only expecting to get half-marks for, and that's my 15% gone. I'll probably lose another 5-10% on errors in the other 7 questions.
So, I've probably failed my "Challenge Accepted" to get full 7's this semester. Fuck. That said, I don't get my marks until December.
I got a call from a lady from the British visa processing office in Manila today. I think she just called to confirm some details. This means that (a) it's running on schedule to get back to me before I leave, and (b) it's already being processed - i.e., today might count as a "processing day." That would be brilliant if it did. It's excruciating how valuable even one day is to my visa application schedule.
Anyway, I'm still going to try and get 7's on the final two exams on Tuesday and Thursday next week.
Tomorrow and Saturday, I'll be finishing up on the content I didn't catch in the last few weeks of teaching.
'til tomorrow.

Day 6
I'm thinking I should set my daily deadline to be a bit later. I'll still be working for another few hours until I get sleepy.
Anyway, I've went through the remaining revision material today. I also found some more things on the blackboard site to go through today.
So, at the moment, I'm going through the book and material once more, writing out a notes sheet that contains all the things I have to memorize between now and 2.30pm tomorrow.
I'm hoping to finish that tonight, and then tomorrow, I'll be doing more exercises.
I'm quite worried about this exam. To get a 7, I'll need to get about 85% of the marks. I really hope I can do it, but I'm worried my mind will just blank out like it did on the Calculus & Linear Algebra I exam last semester... Still, I got a 6 for that course, and I'd be happy with that!

Day 5
So tired. Going to make this short.
Today, I've revised ordinary differential equations, double integrals (and applications to finding volume, etc), changing order of integration, and triple integrals.
Tomorrow, I'll be finishing off triple integrals, and revising centre of mass, spherical and cylindrical coordinates, vector fields in 2D and 3D, line integrals, Green's theorem, fluxes, Gauss' divergence theorem, Stokes' theorem, elementary row operations, LU and PLU decompositions, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and diagonisability of a matrix.
Phew. Wish me luck. It's going to be tough tomorrow.

Day 4
The operating systems exam today went really well. I answered all the questions confidently. One down, three to go!
Sorry for not providing the last two promised updates last night. My productivity plummeted as it got late, and I didn't really have much to show. I ended up finishing the revision sheet in the morning, and then spent the remaining hours leading up to the exam revising.
So, I think I did well, and it's now out of the way.
Calculus & Linear Algebra II is next; the exam is on Thursday. I'll be revising the weekly tutorials thoroughly tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday.

Day 3, 9 PM
I forgot that 8 PM was my deadline - was thinking it was 9 PM.
OK, so I've gone through more of CPU scheduling, process synchronisation and main memory over the past four hours. I'm now half way through virtual memory, and then IO systems, interrupts and DMA will be the last lecture to revise.
I might call it quits at virtual memory, though, and just go straight onto doing the revision sheet. I'll want to have that almost completed by 11 PM.
See you then!

Day 3, 5 PM
OK, thus far, I've spent more time reviewing lectures. I finished up on real-time OSs, and started from the beginning of the content, going over general OS concepts, processes, threads and scheduling.
What's left to go is process synchronisation, main memory and paging, virtual memory, IO systems, interrupts and DMA.
Later tonight, I want to do up my revision sheet. I can take in one double-sided sheet into the exam.
Then, after that, and tomorrow, I will review tutorial questions/answers.
Better get back to it!

Commitments for day 3
Slept in. Not good.
OK, I will update this post every three hours throughout today, detailing my efforts over those past three hours. So, I'll make a post at 5 PM, 8 PM, 11 PM, and 2 AM. It's 2 PM now.
I will not procrastinate!
